We Are Connected, But Not Known

Modern technology has increased connectivity, but true human flourishing depends on being known, not just being connected.

We have never been more connected.

And never more alone.

We can reach anyone instantly.
We can share ideas, images, thoughts, and updates with the world in seconds.

And yet…

Something essential is missing.

Connection is not the same as being known.

You can be connected to hundreds of people
and still feel unseen.

You can communicate constantly
and still feel misunderstood.

Because being known requires more than access.

It requires presence.
It requires attention.
It requires vulnerability.

It requires someone willing to see you—not just respond to you.

Technology can facilitate connection.
But it cannot guarantee relationship.

And without relationship, something in us begins to diminish.

Human flourishing has always depended on this:

To be seen.
To be known.
To be loved.

So perhaps the question is not:

“How connected am I?”

But:

“Who truly knows me, and who am I willing to know?”
